  • Duties included: I implemented conformal-based prediction sets in Python on over 500 observations for atmospheric river forecasting, constructed and curated a custom dataset from ERA5 analysis spanning more than 3,650 days using R and SQL to enable large-scale forecasting, fine-tuned an 8.7 million-parameter SegFormer model in PyTorch with a bespoke configuration, developed a novel scikit-learn–based loss function to penalize occurrence probability and spatial discrepancies in AR shape and location, and reduced Procrustes and Hausdorff distance losses by 30%.

  • Duties included: Developed conformal prediction for bounding boxes in the Masked R-CNN model using pytorch, increasing the coverage by 25% over bootstrapping techniques and achieving a 96 % coverage rate for a miscoverage threshold of 0.05. Engineered and fine-tuned a Masked R-CNN network on a custom 500-image dataset, leveraging HPC clusters and GPUs; deployed the model on GitHub.

  • Duties included: Conducted comprehensive exploratory data analysis on a gene expression dataset comprising 20,000+ genes from over 1,000 patient samples to detect potential cancer biomarkers. Applied LASSO, Elastic-Net, and Boruta to a high-dimensional gene dataset, achieving an 80% reduction in dimen- sionality. Created detailed visualizations using R (ggplot2) and Tableau to effectively communicate insights.
